The NVIDIA App is designed for gamers and creators using NVIDIA GPUs. It offers a variety of features to help users optimize their gaming experiences and enhance their content creation capabilities. However, some users have reported issues such as the app failing to launch or displaying the error message: “There was a problem with NVIDIA app. Relaunch your app. If that doesn’t work, then try reinstalling NVIDIA app and reboot your PC.”

These problems can be frustrating, leading some to consider reverting to GeForce Experience. Fortunately, there are troubleshooting steps available to address these concerns.

Try these fixes:

Before proceeding with the troubleshooting steps, please note that you don’t need to follow all the methods. Simply try each fix in order until you find the one that resolves the issue.

  1. Run the NVIDIA App as an administrator
  2. Update your graphics driver
  3. Download and install all Windows updates
  4. Enable Windows Push Notifications
  5. Reinstall the app

1. Run the NVIDIA App as an administrator

In some cases, certain apps may not work as expected when lacking the administrative privileges. To address the issue, running the app as an administrator can help by granting it the necessary rights to access system resources effectively.

For one-time action, you need to right-click the NVIDIA App shortcut and select Run as administrator.

To make the app always run with administrator privileges, right-click on the NVIDIA App shortcut and select Properties. In the Properties window, go to the Compatibility tab. Under the Settings section, check the box that says Run this program as an administrator. Click Apply and then OK. Now, every time you open the app from that shortcut, it will automatically run with administrator privileges.

If this doesn’t do the trick, try the next fix below.

2. Update your graphics driver

Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause the app to malfunction. To address your issues, you can update your drivers. For users who cannot access the Driver Updates feature within the app, you can do it through the Device Manger:

  1. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box. Then type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter to open the Device Manager.
  2. Expand the Display adapters category. Right-click on your NVIDIA graphics card and choose Update driver.
  3. Select Search automatically for updated drivers software. Then follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process.

While the Windows Device Manager is a common tool for updating drivers, it may not always detect or install the latest drivers. In such cases, Driver Easy can be beneficial.

Driver Easy is designed to simplify the process of managing and updating device drivers on Windows computers. It automatically detects outdated, or missing drivers, then downloads and installs the latest drivers for your system, direct from the device provider. To use Driver Easy:

  1. Download and install Driver Easy.
  2. Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any devices with outdated drivers.
  3. Click the Activate & Update button next to your graphics card or click Update All to update all the outdated drivers. You will be asked to upgrade to the Pro version. A 7-day free trial, including all Pro features like high-speed download and one-click install, is available if you’re not ready for the Pro version yet. Rest assured, you won’t incur any charges until after the 7-day trial.
If you need assistance, please contact Driver Easy’s support team at support@drivereasy.com.

If you still fail to launch the app or it’s still not working properly, move on to the next fix.

If you’re up to date but still can’t use the app properly, proceed to the next fix.
